yes, and u know why it was like that? because after men developed farming, it became too hard for women to work, so they basically become a offspring incubator. men, on the other hand, started working with their fathers when they was like 6 yo, so the fathers still raised their sons. later, like from the 20's i think, children couldn't work with their dad anymore, so women had to raise them till like 20 yo. now things are changing again, and nobody have time to raise their children cause both parents have to work, and u still can't bring your son. so, yeah, things change.

Funny thing thou that our closest relatives like bonobos and chimps care about their offspring. Especially bonobos where all adolescent individuals care for the younglingst to prepare for the role of parent. And yes while males usually move to more protective role later, they still do care about younglingst. Theres numerous cases recorded where alpha male took care of young orphans not related to him. Yes females may be better equipped to take care of children, but that doesn't mean males don't do it as well when situation arises.
